WEB CONTENT DESIGNER | CAMBRIDGE

WHAT DID YOUR LIFE LOOK LIKE BEFORE GÉANT?

My career started as a News Editor for an interior design magazine at a publishing house in Essex. I then had the opportunity to join E.ON as a Project Manager within the energy efficiency department. My passion for content management / web design started when I took on the role of Content Manager at a national dance agency, and in 2012 I had the chance to develop that passion further by joining GÉANT.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A VALUED MEMBER OF GÉANT?

Your voice is always heard.

“What we do is making a difference to communities across the world, and this far reaching impact is something to be proud of.”

HAS THE FLEXIBLE WORKING ENVIRONMENT PROVED USEFUL FOR YOU AND HOW?

Originally based in the Cambridge office, since starting a family GÉANT has assisted me in my desire to become a remote worker. The flexible working environment has enabled me to strike a healthy balance between family life and work.

After a year off on maternity leave I returned to work during the early stages of the COVID pandemic. Despite not being able to see colleagues face-to-face for some time, I still felt warmly welcomed back to the team. It quickly felt like I was picking up from just where I left off! I also had to home-school my eldest child during this time. Colleagues and management were always supportive and understanding of this additional responsibility that I had to manage, alongside my daily workload.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WONDERING IF GÉANT LIFE IS FOR THEM?

Go for it! I feel happy and settled at GÉANT. It’s a friendly and inclusive company, and the international environment makes it such an interesting place to work. What we do is making a difference to communities across the world, and this far reaching impact is something to be proud of.
